Atlanta, GA Trip

Back in September my co-workers and I took a trip to Atlanta, GA to see and meet our other co-workers that are based at our Headquarters. We left SGU at 7:30 pm, arrived in SLC close to 9:00 pm. We then waited for 4 hours for our flight to Atlanta. We then arrived in Atlanta at 5:30 am, we got checked into our hotel and went to the headquarters. We got to see where they do the maintenance on the aircraft's. We then went back to the hotel, which was right next to the ATL Airport to get some rest before going to the Atlanta Braves vs. New York Mets baseball game. The next morning we went downtown Atlanta, myself and Bethany went to the Georgia Aquarium and saw all the undersea world. My favorite were the Beluga Whales. The rest of the group went to the Coca-Cola Factory. After a day of fun, we made it back home at 11:30 Saturday night. I was a very long 3 day trip, but work it :)

Minneapolis/St. Paul Trip

I have had the opportunity to go to Minneapolis/St.Paul, MN. We first went to downtown Minneapolis to the Nicollet Mall, then took a bus to the Mississippi River. They had all the flour and wool mills there by the river, i loved the history in that town, it was amazing. We then rode the light rail back to Mall of America (AMAZING), we spent the rest of the day shopping while amazed by everything in the mall. We also took a roller coaster ride while we were in the mall, we rode the Fairly Odd Coaster which turned while moving. It was an awesome adventure and i cant wait till the next one. Inside the Mall they had a mini Lego Land, i loved the sculptures made of Lego's. We also went and ate at Rainforest Cafe, what an experience that was, from monkeys to thunder, lightning and rainstorms all while you ate.

The Pillsbury A Mill, situated along Saint Anthony Falls on the Mississippi River in Minneapolis, Minnesota, held the title of largest flour mill in the world for 40 years.^[2]^[3] Completed in 1881, it was owned by Pillsbury and operated two of the most powerful direct-drive waterwheels ever built, each generating 1,200 horsepower (895 kW). The mill still stands today on the east side of the Mississippi River, but ceased operation in 2003.

The Milwaukee Road, officially the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad (CMStP&P RR) (reporting mark MILW), was a Class I railroad that operated in the Midwest and Northwest of the United States from 1847 until its merger into the Soo Line Railroad on January 1, 1986. The company went through several official names and faced bankruptcy several times in that period. While the railroad does not exist as a separate entity anymore, it is still commemorated in buildings like the historic Milwaukee Road Depot in Minneapolis, Minnesota and in railroad hardware still maintained by railfans, such as the Milwaukee Road 261 steam locomotive.

Northwestern Consolidated Milling Company Elevator A also known as the Ceresota Building and "The Million Bushel Elevator"^{[citation needed]} was a receiving and public grain elevator built by the Northwestern Consolidated Milling Company in 1908 in Minneapolis, Minnesota in the United States. The building is a contributing property of the Saint Anthony Falls History District listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1971.^[2] Today the building is a multiple tenant office building with 92,081 square feet (8,555 m²).

The North Star Woolen Mill is a building in downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota. The building, located in the St. Anthony Falls Historic District, was originally a textile mill for the North Star Woolen Company. The mill was built in 1864 by W.W. Eastman and Paris Gibson on the west side of the west side canal. High quality wool blankets, scarves, flannels, and yarns were manufactured at the facility and it became the nation's largest manufacturer of wool blankets by 1925.

New York City

I took a trip to NYC with a couple of girls from work. We flew out of Las Vegas at 10:00 PM Firday and arrived in New York at 5:15 AM Saturday. We took a ride on the ferry to Staten Island, with the Statue of Liberty. We had breakfast at a small cafe. We then walked up to Wall Street to see Ground Zero, they are now building the new Twin Towers. Rockefeller Center, Time Square and then off to Central Park. We took a Carriage ride through the park, it was beautiful and calm. We then got on the subway and went to Hobokan, NJ to see Buddy from Cake Boss on TLC :) We stood in line for over an hour to get some goodies. We then went to a small Italian restaurant there in Hobokan, NJ and had a fabulous dinner. Then back onto the pass train, connection to the subway and then another connection to the tram at the airport. We left New York at 9:30 PM Saturday and arrived home at 4:00 AM Sunday.

Mini Indy

We went and watched the SkyWest Mini Indy today. It was a lot of fun, even though the weather wasn't so cooperative. Mini Indy is a go cart race, they had 18 cars in the first heap and 19 cars in the second heap. We didn't stay long enough to hear who won, however it was a blast watching. A very great way to spend a day off :)

Finished Kokopelli

We are completely finished with the Kokopelli Geo-Caching series :) We finished the last 46 caches to get 133 caches. I am so glad we are finished with this series .... the last 4 - 5 caches were the worst. We went through about 6 gullies, they were about 250 feet down and then 250 up just to get to the next geo-cache. We were hurting by the end of this trail. GLAD TO BE DONE

New Year 2011

So far the New Year has started off great. A couple of weeks ago i got an offer to work for SkyWest Airlines. I flew to SLC for a day training and then flew back home the following day. It was a great experience and i am so excited to get more involved and get to know my co-workers and travel a little bit more. This offer is exceptional, and in my eyes a once in a lifetime opportunity to work for such a great company.

Meet Baxter: The newest addition to our family, he is a 13 week old Bassett Hound. He sure has a personality all of his own, a little monster most of the time. Baxter was my Mom's Christmas present from my Dad.

So ... Brooke was looking online at the Geo Cache's around Southern Utah and came across this awesome layout of the Kokopelli guy, located below Utah Hill on the Utah, Arizona and Nevada border. We decided to head out to collect these caches. It was way fun, we found 40 caches out of 133 the for the first collection. Here are the pictures from before and after, the first one is what needs to be completed, the second one with the smiley's is what we completed for the first collection.
